Job Responsibilities
The Engineering Lead will take ownership of the company’s core platform, which powers the entire testing ecosystem. This platform serves three primary functions: enabling clients to define their testing needs, supporting internal operations to manage test cycles efficiently, and equipping the global tester community with the tools and resources they need to succeed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Leading all aspects of platform development, from feature planning to deployment and performance optimization.
- Managing and mentoring a growing team of engineers, fostering a high-performance and supportive environment.
- Overseeing infrastructure and DevOps functions, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable systems.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (product, design, operations, and community) to align technical work with business goals.
- Making architectural decisions and setting engineering standards that promote long-term scalability and stability.
- Driving project execution while maintaining a balance between speed and sustainability.
- Staying hands-on where needed — especially in critical areas — to guide development and unblock progress.
- Contributing to the technical roadmap and identifying areas for innovation and improvement as the platform evolves.
The Successful Candidate:
- At least 6 years of experience in software engineering, with hands-on experience across both frontend and backend development.
- Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role, either as a people manager or technical lead.
- Strong command of modern web technologies, including React/Next.js for frontend and FastAPI or similar for backend development.
- Proven experience with databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL, and cloud platforms — preferably Google Cloud (GCP).
- Proficiency in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure monitoring, and cloud cost management.
- A bias for action and the ability to break down complex problems into practical, results-driven solutions.
- Excellent collaboration skills and a user-focused mindset.
- High standards for code quality, system reliability, and technical best practices.
- Comfortable navigating multicultural environments; bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English is essential for cross-regional collaboration.
