POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Technology is responsible for the overall technology strategy, execution, and operational stability of the online gaming business. This role ensures that our platforms, integrations, and infrastructure are scalable, secure, and compliant, while delivering world-class performance to support acquisition, retention, and product innovation. The Director of Technology leads the engineering, DevOps, and technical delivery teams, partnering closely with Product and Compliance to align technical execution with business goals.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Experience: 10+ years in technology leadership, with at least 5 years in iGaming, fintech, or similarly regulated digital industries.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with iGaming platforms, game integrations, payments/KYC systems, and regulatory frameworks in Asia.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Technology Strategy & Roadmap

• Define and own the technology vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with business growth and regulatory requirements.
• Translate product and business objectives into scalable technical architectures.
• Drive platform modernization, microservices adoption, and API-first design principles.

2. Engineering Leadership

• Lead internal and external development teams (front-end, back-end, integrations, mobile).
• Define and enforce coding standards, architecture guidelines, and security best practices.
• Oversee vendor selection and management for technical services and third-party tools.

3. Infrastructure & Operations

• Own the infrastructure roadmap (hosting, cloud, CDN, database scaling).
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance monitoring (99.9%+ uptime).
• Optimize cost efficiency of hosting (AWS, Azure, or equivalent).
• Implement observability frameworks (logging, monitoring, alerts).

4. Security & Compliance

• Ensure systems meet PAGCOR and other regulatory requirements (data privacy, AML/KYC, reporting).
• Lead cybersecurity initiatives (penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, data encryption).
• Ensure technical readiness for audits and certifications.

5. Delivery & Process

• Establish agile delivery practices (Scrum, Kanban, CI/CD pipelines).
• Partner with Product Management to plan and execute releases.
• Maintain clear SLAs for platform stability, bug resolution, and new feature delivery.

6. Team Leadership

• Build and mentor a high-performing technology organization (developers, DevOps, QA automation, architects).
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Define succession planning and career growth paths within the tech team.

KEY COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

Technical Skills:

o Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
o Microservices and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
o API management and integration scaling.
o Security and compliance best practices (PCI-DSS, GDPR, ISO27001).

Leadership Skills:

Proven ability to lead distributed engineering teams, manage vendors, and drive large-scale platform initiatives.

Tools:

JIRA/Confluence, CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI), monitoring (Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus), security suites
