We are searching for a passionate and experienced Senior Database Engineer to join our growing team. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and high-performing database solutions across various platforms, including Azure SQL Server, AWS SQL Server, and Snowflake. You will be instrumental in ensuring efficient data management, warehousing, and visualization, while adhering to strict non-functional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop efficient database schemas across Azure SQL Server, AWS SQL Server, and Snowflake, utilizing normalization techniques and appropriate data types to optimize querying and storage.
• Implement robust replication strategies for data synchronization between on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Design and implement archiving solutions to ensure long-term data retention across platforms, maintaining optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Create and maintain non-clustered indexes on various platforms to enhance query performance and improve data access efficiency.
• Tune and optimize database queries across platforms to ensure efficient read and write operations.
• Perform ongoing database administration tasks, including backup and recovery, security management, and performance monitoring, across all utilized platforms (Azure SQL Server, AWS SQL Server, Snowflake).
• Migrate existing databases to Azure SQL Server, AWS SQL Server, or Snowflake, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
• Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective database solutions across the chosen platforms.
• Develop and maintain data warehouses on platforms like Snowflake, utilizing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to transform raw data into a format suitable for analysis.
• Utilize data visualization tools like Tableau to create informative dashboards and reports to facilitate data-driven decision making.
• Document database designs, procedures, configurations, and data warehousing processes effectively.
• Adhere to strict non-functional requirements, including security, performance, scalability, reliability, and availability across all platforms.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Azure SQL Server, AWS SQL Server, Snowflake, Tableau, and other relevant technologies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Engineer with a strong understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) and data warehousing concepts.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure SQL Server, AWS SQL Server, and Snowflake, including their features, functionalities, and best practices.
• Proven experience in database design, normalization, optimization techniques, and data warehousing methodologies.
• Experience with replication technologies and data synchronization strategies across hybrid environments.
• Familiarity with database archiving and long-term data retention solutions.
• Strong understanding of SQL query optimization and performance tuning techniques across various platforms.
• Experience with database administration tasks such as backups, recovery, security management, and performance monitoring for different platforms.
• Experience with ETL processes and data transformation practices.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau for creating insightful dashboards and reports.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for learning and staying at the forefront of database, data warehousing, and data visualization technologies.
