Location: Remote, Philippines

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Kotlin Engineer with a strong focus on non-functional requirements (NFRs) to join our talented engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building high-quality, performant, and scalable native mobile applications using Kotlin. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our applications meet the highest standards of reliability, security, and user experience by meticulously addressing NFRs throughout the entire development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, performant, and scalable native Android applications using Kotlin.
• Deeply understand and translate non-functional requirements (NFRs) into technical solutions, including:
  • Performance: Optimize application speed, responsiveness, and resource utilization.
  • Scalability: Design and implement solutions that can handle growing user bases and data volumes.
  • Security: Implement robust security measures to protect user data and prevent vulnerabilities.
  • Reliability: Ensure application stability, fault tolerance, and recoverability.
  • Maintainability: Write clean, well-documented, and testable code that is easy to maintain and update.
  • Usability: Contribute to an exceptional user experience through thoughtful design and implementation.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define, refine, and implement NFRs.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other engineers.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in mobile development technologies, including Kotlin and other relevant frameworks.
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in mobile application development using Kotlin.
• Strong understanding of Android development principles and best practices.
• Proven experience in addressing and implementing non-functional requirements in a production environment.
• Deep understanding of performance optimization techniques, including profiling, memory management, and efficient algorithm design.
• Experience with security best practices, including data encryption, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience with testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for building high-quality, user-centric applications.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
