We are seeking a Head of Legal to expertly guide us through these complexities, ensuring that our operations remain legally sound and compliant across multiple jurisdictions.

Job Overview:

The Head of Legal will serve as the primary legal authority within the company, taking an active role in managing all legal matters. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and providing strategic legal guidance. The Head of Legal will be pivotal in identifying and mitigating legal risks, ensuring licensing compliance, and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to navigate the complexities of the iGaming industry's legal landscape.

This role requires a proactive approach to addressing legal challenges and implementing effective solutions directly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regulatory Compliance & Operations: Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant iGaming laws and regulations, with a specific focus on grey and black markets, while managing offshore licensing requirements.
• Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with vendors, partners, and affiliates, ensuring operational and legal alignment.
• Licensing & Compliance: Lead efforts to secure, maintain, and manage the company’s gaming licenses across multiple jurisdictions, particularly focusing on offshore licenses.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks, ensuring that business
  operations adhere to local and international legal standards.
• Legal Timelines: Establish and monitor legal timelines for compliance-related activities, ensuring all actions are executed within required timeframes to avoid regulatory penalties.
• Response to Violations: Develop and implement protocols for addressing any legal
  violations, including internal investigations, reporting to regulatory authorities, and taking corrective actions to mitigate risks and prevent future occurrences.
• Operational Integration: Collaborate closely with finance, HR, and operational teams to ensure legal requirements are seamlessly integrated into daily business activities. (not sure if accurate)
• Dispute Resolution: Manage legal disputes and regulatory investigations, providing solutions to minimize impact on the business.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Ensure legal oversight across all company initiatives, working closely with product, marketing, and technology teams.
• External Counsel: Engage and coordinate with external legal advisors as necessary.
• Policy Development: Develop and implement internal policies to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with legal frameworks.

The Successful Candidate:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Law required.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the iGaming industry, particularly Curacao and other offshore regulations.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
• Hands-On Expertise: Proven ability to take a proactive, hands-on role in managing KYC processes, regulatory compliance, and all legal aspects of the business.
• Operational Mindset: Proactive, open-minded, and capable of translating legal requirements into practical operational solutions.
• Contract & Licensing Proficiency: Experience managing complex contracts and licensing processes across multiple jurisdictions.
• Teamwork & Leadership: Collaborative team player with strong leadership capabilities and excellent communication skills.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve legal issues in a fast-paced environment with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
