Chief Operating Officer (COO) Asia Job - iGaming - Remote
Location: Remote, Ideally in or in between GMT+8 and GMT+3.
About the Hiring Company:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the region will play a crucial role as a core member of the executive team, directly reporting to the regional CEO in the Asia-Pacific (APAC). Your responsibilities will include offering leadership, overseeing operations, and providing strategic vision to ensure the company establishes appropriate operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and effective people systems. This role aims to facilitate the organization's growth, ensuring financial stability, and operational efficiency. The COO will lead the execution of the company's strategy, oversee vital operational and back-office functions, and contribute to the formulation and implementation of organizational policies and practices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the company’s operational and back office processes, and ensure an efficient and effective execution of strategies and objectives.
- Implement business strategies, plans, and procedures, setting comprehensive goals for performance and growth.
- Lead the performance and growth of the company's operational units, including customer support, payment operations, risk management, and compliance.
- Enhance, finesse, and implement operational systems, processes, and best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the CEO and other C-level executives to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals.
- Monitor and analyze the operating environment to ensure that the company maintains its competitive advantages and makes necessary adjustments to operational execution.
- Manage relationships with partners/vendors and maintain high levels of integrity and business ethics.
- Drive the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, and business goals and objectives.
- Spearhead the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing managerial team, managing succession planning for key operational roles.
- The COO role is primarily focused on operational oversight and aggregation of functions within departments, serving as a bridge between various departments, particularly in situations where the Asian office is seeking more independence and additional functions are being introduced, such as sales, account management (AM) and operational flows.
- Reporting directly to,Director of PAC, the COO role is not solely supervisory but aims to replicate the knowledge and expertise of the sender, facilitating efficient management of the business's extensive reach.
- The three core aspects of the COO role are control, aggregation, and education.
- Control involves managing and improving processes such as reporting to HQ, CRM information, quality control, time management, and settlements
- Aggregation entails consolidating information on the state of the business across various markets, understanding the ups and downs of solutions, pipeline status, and pre-sales information. This includes being proficient not only in Asia but also in other macro regions, with proficiency in languages like Russian being particularly valuable.
- Education involves continually monitoring trends, news, and regulations, and disseminating this information to relevant departments, particularly sales teams. This includes establishing control over the process of providing information and streamlining educational materials to ensure sales teams are well-equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed.
- The COO is responsible for overseeing CRM development, understanding business processes, managing sales cycles, and facilitating the presentation of business-oriented data through BI tools. Versatility is a key attribute required to adapt to the diverse needs of different departments.
The Successful Candidate
- Knowing Russian language (native\studied) and English languages is a must.
- Proven experience (3+ years) as Chief Operating Officer or Senior Operations Officer in ideally the fintech or online payments industry.
- Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, Sales, marketing, settlements, reconciliation, operations, account management, compliance, risk management, etc.
- Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development.
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics.
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities, including the ability to communicate and manage staff at all levels.
- Hands-on
- Strong knowledge of FIAT payment industry.
- Ability to be the helicopter view for the Asia business operations
- Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
- Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
