Job Description:
After much success across Europe, Africa and LATAM employing our world class B2B Turnkey solutions, our company is now turning it’s attention to the Asian market. We have thus far made significant strides in securing the appropriate licences, setting-up our local operation, and fine-tuning our product for success in the Asian market, so we are now embarking on the next stage of our expansion in recruiting the commercial team to support our “stand-based” attendance at the various shows in Asia in 2024 as we look to start taking on clients in the region.
The successful candidate will develop, lead and manage the commercial activities for our business in Asia, and implement an innovative, growth focussed commercial strategy for the region. Specifically, this is with regards overseeing and developing the sales pipeline, managing commercial relationships with local providers (casino, sportsbook, CRM, PSPs etc.), as well as ensuring the profitability of any new deals across both clients and providers alike. Therefore, you will be accountable for the recruitment and performance of a number of sales execs/managers, leveraging your local contacts and experience as well as being au-fait with the appropriate payments, licencing & compliance nuances of the region. Working with the Exec team, you will also be the final commercial sign-off point for any new deals in the region, and expected to employ your experience to set a commercial strategy that ties in with the aims of the overall group and IT/product capability.
This role is absolutely central to our growth strategy and reports directly into the CEO and requires a commercially minded individual with the gravitas to succeed in the region.
Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Qualification Skills
- Originate, manage and own the sales pipeline between yourself and your execs
- Manage the careful qualification of sales pipeline to ensure ability to deliver from an IT perspective
- Liaise with legal counsel to effectively close contracts on the right terms
- Ensure a smooth set up and onboarding process with a good handover to the delivery team and Key Account Manager
2. Strategy
- Work with CEO and Exec Team on the overall strategy with regards to entry into new Asian jurisdictions, using prior experience to help scope out the commercial opportunity and the regulatory/certification challenges
- Help define the key USPs of our offering versus the competitors and employ that in our marketing strategy
3. Marketing
- Work closely with marketing team to maximise opportunities created buy our show attendance
- Partake in interviews for journals and publications in the region
4. Management
- Manage a team of sales execs
- Coach team members to assist in their professional development and deliver improved outputs
- Work with other senior colleagues to ensure that the Commercial team contribute to the wider company strategy
5. Reporting into the CEO, and working closely with:
- Chief Operating Officer, Chief Finance Officer, Chief Sportsbook Officer
- CTO and wider IT team
- Head of Legal
- Director of Customer Services
- Head of Casino
- Group Marketing Director and Head of Marketing
The Successful Candidate:
- At least 7 years of experience in the online gaming industry in Asia with a focus on B2B technology sales or similar.
- Strong project management experience, particularly in a technology space
- Exposure to working in a global environment and International markets with significant experience growing commercial business in the Asian market
- Good knowledge of sportsbook, casino and exchange products in the online gaming space
- Experience in building and managing teams, including market/platform specific subject matter experts, technology teams, etc.
- Strong understanding and ability to recognize the value of connecting the brand experience with technology and have a passion for solving problems, influencing within a cross-functional environment and delivering exceptional results.
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding the business and customer experience benefits and consequences of technical decisions
- Ability to collaborate with teams and build positive relationships across groups of various functions
- Strong negotiating acumen, excellent project management skills, and a deep knowledge of sports betting technology platforms and regulation
- Established network of contacts within the gaming industry
- A strategic and entrepreneurial mindset
- People management experience - build strong teams, setting clear expectations, coach, feedback, inspire and engage
- Proven capabilities to build strong and profitable client relationships, and closing high value deals in the region
- High level understanding of technology would be an asset
